Service Firm of the Year Minority Enterprise Development (MED Week) is an annual event proclaimed since 1983 by the President of the United States of America to recognize and promote the achievements of minority-owned and controlled business enterprises. V & L Research received the Minority Service Firm of the Year for their outstanding performance in the service industry.
Market Research Association Dydra Virgil was elected Treasurer for the Atlanta Chapter of the Market Research Association. Dydra served from June 1999 to June 2000. She was installed at the annual meeting in Boston.
National Association of Women Business Owners, Chair, Diversity Committee Delphyne was elected to the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Chapter of National Association of Women Business Owners. She chaired the diversity committee and served on the membership committee.
Business Women of the Year - South DeKalb Business Association For the second time, Dydra Virgil and Delphyne Lomax, principals of V & L Research and Consulting, Inc. were selected as 1997 "Businesswomen of the Year" by the South DeKalb Business Association. SDBA works with businesses, local government and the educational system to enhance community economic development
Delegate - The White House Conference on Small Business One of the firms principals, Delphyne Lomax was elected as a delegate to The White House Conference on Small Business (WHCSB). The purpose of the WHCSB is to develop recommendations for executive and legislative action appropriate for maintaining and encouraging the economic viability of small businesses.
Innovative Leadership Award American Marketing Association - Atlanta Chapter Dydra Virgil and Delphyne Lomax were honored by the American Marketing Association, (Atlanta's Premier Marketing Organization) for innovative leadership in creating the Multicultural Marketing Special Interest Group. The Multicultural Marketing Special Interest Group is to promote the development of marketing programs targeted to the patterns, arts, beliefs and institutions of the diverse communities or populations represented in the marketplace.
Women's Business of the Year - Stargazers Award - DeKalb Chamber of Commerce V & L Research was named Women's Business of the Year by the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce The award was based on business growth in revenue sales number of staff added capital. V & L Research was named Women's Business of the Year by the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce. The award was based on business growth in revenue, sales, number of staff added, capital investment and return on equity.
Atlanta Business League - Success Against The Odds Winner The Atlanta Business League (ABL) established in 1933, is an affiliate of the National Business League. The mission of the National Business League is to enhance and expand the business community at large, to encourage civic pride, and to reinvest community money within the community. Female owned companies throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area competed for this award. V & L won the award as a result of outstanding achievements in the business community.
